When I open a new instance of the Dolphin file manager and use the details view (Ctrl+3), no icons are displayed in the file overview by default. I can fix that by switching to another view and then back to details view, but it doesn't apply any icon theme and just uses the default. The icon themes work fine in the other views but not in details view.
hmm I will have to fresh install in vm to test as can not reproduce on my staging host nor latest VM
Could it be because I copied over my home directory from another distro? I've done that many times but never had the issue before.

In the overlay? No, it's completely empty. I even removed Firefox which is installed by default.

hmm then it may be something over written in $HOME
Maybe try removing $HOME/.config/dolphinrc

Can Confirm the current Dolphin version in Fedora is 26.08.0 so no fixes in fedora yet
I wouldn't mind closing this bug report as it's a Dolphin bug and not your responsibility to fix it. We just have to wait until it gets fixed by the corresponding dev team.
The latest version (20260907) has the updated Dolphin with the fix. This issue can now be closed.
