As in title - I use my pc like 70% YT and 30% steam games. (not the latest AAA titles, in majority these are 3 to 5 years old games)

In most cases probally so . I would at this point think of the overaly as a extra source of packages and use mostly for gaming as native gaming does perform better then flatpak in alot of cases due to flatpak not being setcap and will never being able to setcap for things. I also use mine for vms and my dev enviroment etc beauty of our setup now even if you bork the overlay your system does NOT break. Most the time time overlay resets from terminal or the software centers system page fixes those issues if they arrise
