These are all the commits that landed on main or staging in the RakuOS GitLab group (https://gitlab.com/rakuos) since the last changelog, grouped by component. Merge commits are left out, and a change applied to both branches is listed once. Entries marked (staging) haven't reached main yet.

For what these changes mean for you, read the 2026.10.28 release notes. The highlights:

  • Terra and RPM Fusion:
    • The Welcome app's repository switches show whether each repository is really on.
    • At boot, old Terra and RPM Fusion files in /etc/yum.repos.d are replaced by fresh copies in /etc/rum.repos.d, and repositories that were on stay on.
    • rum resolves ten renamed COSMIC extras to Terra's packages when Terra has them.
  • Drivers: the Drivers page and rum kmod-upgrade fetch fresh repository data first, so new driver builds are found.
  • Small screens: the Software Center, Welcome app and installer fit the Steam Deck's screen in all three UIs.
  • rum honours the Conflicts and Obsoletes of installed packages, so ntsync-autoload can't go into the overlay.
  • AppArmor treats /var/home as home, so FUSE mounts in your home folder work.
  • A Hyprland ISO, built from the Hyprland image, with its live session set up by rakuos-forge.
