rum Reference

rum is RakuOS's RPM package manager, written in Rust. It replaces dnf: dnf and dnf5 are small commands that run rum with the same arguments, and rum's command line follows dnf5's closely.

For everyday use, Installing Packages with rum is enough. These pages go deeper.

How rum Works

Split and standalone mode, the overlay, and where rum keeps things.

Commands

Every rum command, with its short aliases.

Configuration

rum.conf settings and their defaults.

Error Messages

What rum's messages mean and what to do.
