Getting Started

This section takes you from download to your first login: check that your machine can run RakuOS, write the installer to a USB stick, install, and finish the first-boot steps.

RakuOS is an image-based desktop built on Fedora. The system itself arrives as a signed image that updates as a whole and can be rolled back; the apps you install go on top of it and stay with you across updates. If you have used Fedora before, most things will feel familiar, but a few work differently. The rest of these docs explain how.

System Requirements

What your PC needs to run RakuOS.

Creating a Bootable USB

Write the RakuOS ISO to a USB stick.

Installing RakuOS

Boot the USB stick and run the installer.

First Boot

Enroll the RakuOS key, the welcome app, and your first update.
