Installing Software
RakuOS gives you several ways to install software, depending on what you're installing and how you like to work. This section covers each one.
- rum, RakuOS's own package manager for system packages, from the command line.
- Flatpak, sandboxed desktop apps, installable via the Software Center or the command line.
- Distrobox, containerized Linux environments for tools and apps that don't fit the image based system.
- Local RPMs, installing a downloaded
.rpmfile with rum or the Software Center. - AppImages, portable app files you can run directly, managed through the Software Center.
The Software Center is available on every RakuOS desktop, use the sidebar to find the page for your desktop environment.
